House exterior repaint in Dolgellau
Failing exterior paint removed, masonry prepared and two white finishing coats applied.
The brief was to repaint the weathered exterior of this Dolgellau home. The existing white coating was peeling, so the condition of the masonry underneath needed attention before repainting.

Preparation carried out
I removed loose and failing paint, then prepared and stabilised the exposed masonry.
Products & finishes used
Two coats of white masonry paint, black satin on the windowsills and black masonry paint on the lower border.

More loose paint beneath the first patch
What began as a small area of loose paint revealed a much larger failing coating as it was scraped back. I continued removing the unsound paint and prepared the exposed masonry before applying the new finish.

The result
The loose coating was removed before the walls were repainted, addressing the starting condition as well as the appearance. The completed elevation has an even white finish, with black sills and a dark lower border.
